‘Peace being gradually restored in Swat’

MINGORA: The Swat district elders said on Saturday that peace is gradually being restored to the region in the aftermath of the military operation against the Taliban. Addressing a gathering of the ‘Qaumi Lashkar’, police and elders at the village of Bara Drushkhela, Awami National Party leader Afzal Khan Lala said the people of Swat had braved innumerable hardships over the past three years, adding that the Pakistan Army had played a crucial role in clearing out the Taliban from the region. He said the people of Swat fully backed the government’s military offensive against the Taliban. ghulam farooq
